As an IT Developer I, you’ll contribute to the low-code development and support of internal applications and AI Agents that improve and enhance enterprise productivity, streamline workflows, and deliver innovative digital experiences and processes across the business. Assist in the development, configuration, and maintenance of internal applications using the Microsoft Power Platform including PowerApps and Power Automate. 2. Support integration efforts by working with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and relational databases to ensure seamless data flow across systems. 3. P articipate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning and story pointing, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver incremental value. 4. C ontribute to the creation of automated test cases to support software quality and reduce manual testing efforts. 5. Develop, deploy, and maintain AI agents using platforms such as Copilot Studio, integrating them with enterprise applications and data sources. 6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for intelligent automation, designing solutions that utilize conversational AI, predictive analytics, and autonomous decision-making. 7. Ensure applications and AI agents adhere to organizational standards for security, compliance, and ethical use, and continuously monitor their performance for accuracy and reliability. 8. Document application logic, workflows, and support procedures to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing across the team. What We’re Looking For - Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant internship or work experience. - Knowledgeable in use of Power Platform applications with Dataverse, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, third-party APIs and usage of Azure services. - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. - Familiarity with Agile software development practices and basic experience with data modeling and database structure. - Familiarity with AI agent development, including natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, and integration with enterprise systems. In this role, you will build machine-centered applications that are highly tested and align with solid coding standards. We’re looking for team members with strong technical skills who can work cross-functionally within an agile development team. What You’ll Do 1. Assist in delivering value to customers by designing and delivering software and solutions using accepted programming techniques and standards such as pair programming and Test Driven Development. 2. Assist in maintaining all necessary CI/CD steps to deliver changes with high confidence of quality and streamlined effort. 3. Work Shift 1 - First Shift Job Summary The Systems Engineer Intern assists in the effort to develop, test, and implement control systems in accordance with Vermeer standards and initiatives. This role helps develop electrical and control system design standards, reviews electrical/control system prototypes and performs audits. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Exhibit the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused and stewardship while modeling the associated behaviors. 2. Help develop and write control systems specifications that direct software code development and test in application software code to specification. Perform tests and simulations on software and hardware. 3. Review wiring diagrams and schematics; help design wire harness, control panel, sensor mounting, and wire routing and specify control system components. 4. Help identify electrical quality and reliability issues and implement solutions. 5. Consult on electrical/control systems i.e. assist in building prototypes that utilize control systems; assist with control systems design changes related on existing machines and provide documentation required to implement changes. Education and/or Experience - High School diploma required. - Current student pursing a Bachelor's degree in Control, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. - Previous internship is a plus. Other Skills and Abilities - Ability to create electrical drawings and build electrical harnesses. - Ability to complete machine control system testing and computer-based electro-hydraulic control system design. - Knowledge of electrical, electronics and controls. - Effective organization and project management skills. - Ability to create accurate, professional and error-free documents in a timely manner. - Demonstration of good oral and written communication skills. In this role, you will help design and implement embedded software solutions that power Vermeer’s next-generation machinery, used in industries like agriculture, construction, utilities, and more. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team to build innovative, reliable, and efficient systems that help shape the next generation of intelligent, automated off-highway equipment. What You’ll Do 1. Design, develop, and test embedded software using C, C++, and MATLAB/Simulink for real-time control systems. 2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate stakeholder needs into technical requirements and implement solutions that align with Vermeer’s innovation goals. 3. Develop and refine Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) and user experiences for embedded control systems. 4. Integrate and validate control systems using CAN protocols (e.g., SAE J1939) and serial communication standards. 5. Support rapid prototyping and iterative development using Agile methodologies and DevOps practices such as Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and version control (Git, GitHub). 6. Contribute to safety-critical system development with awareness of functional safety standards like International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 26262 or International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 61508. What We’re Looking For - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related field with an emphasis in embedded systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience or coursework in embedded programming using tools such as C, C++, and MATLAB/Simulink. - Interest or experience in robotics, machine automation, DevOps practices (CI/CD), or version control systems (Git, GitHub). - Understanding of control system theory, including electrical and electro-hydraulic control architectures. - Experience with HMI development or User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) design for embedded systems. - Familiarity with Controller Area Network (CAN) protocols (e.g., SAE J1939), serial communication standards, and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS or VxWorks. - Awareness of Agile software development methodologies and functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508. - Knowledge of PLM and Engineering Change Notification (ECN) systems like Dassault Systems 3DX or equivalent. - Demonstrated willingness to perform hands-on troubleshooting, testing, and analysis on physical equipment in lab or field environments.
