About the Role
Solidigm is hiring a Senior DevOps Technical Manager to lead the Firmware DevOps team responsible for Firmware CI, the firmware compile toolchain, and the firmware release process. This role owns the reliability and scalability of the build/CI pipeline, manages the compiler and cross-compilation toolchain lifecycle across product lines, and governs end-to-end release versioning, packaging, and sign-off. The successful candidate will combine hands-on technical leadership in DevOps/build engineering with direct management of a team of engineers, partnering closely with Firmware Engineering, QA, and Program Management to ensure firmware ships reliably, on schedule, and with full traceability across Solidigm's SSD product lines. Key Responsibilities Responsible for the architecture, reliability, and scalability of the Firmware CI pipeline (build, test, and validation automation). Manage the firmware compile toolchain lifecycle — compiler versions, cross-compilation environments, and dependency management across product lines. Responsible for the firmware release process end-to-end: versioning, packaging, sign-off gates, traceability, and release documentation. Drive standardization and consolidation of build and release tooling to reduce technical debt and manual overhead. Lead root-cause analysis of build/CI failures and drive continuous improvement in pipeline stability and speed. Hire, manage, and develop a team of DevOps engineers; set priorities aligned with firmware program schedules. Partner with Firmware Engineering, Program Management, and QA to align CI/toolchain/release capabilities with product milestones. Report on release health, build reliability, and infrastructure risk to engineering leadership.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or related field; 10+ years in DevOps/build engineering, including 3+ years managing engineers. Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems (QuickBuild, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or similar) at scale. Strong knowledge of embedded/firmware build systems and cross-compilation toolchains (CMake, Clang, or similar). Experience owning a formal software/firmware release process, including versioning and artifact management. Scripting proficiency (Python, Bash) and experience with infrastructure-as-code. Strong communication skills and a track record of building effective engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SSD/storage or other embedded firmware in a semiconductor environment. Familiarity with artifact repositories and containerized build environments. Experience with regulatory/traceability requirements for firmware release sign-off.
