About the Role
About your tasks: Lead, coach and develop a high-performing engineering team through people management, mentoring and hiring. Define the technical vision, architecture and roadmap for the Core Commerce Services domain. Drive the design and delivery of scalable services and platform capabilities, including our headless checkout. Establish clear domain boundaries, APIs and integration patterns using domain-driven design principles. Collaborate with Product and adjacent engineering teams, including Payments, while balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability. Ensure operational excellence through secure, scalable, resilient and observable systems. Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
About you: Proven experience as an Engineering Manager. Strong background in backend engineering and large-scale distributed systems. Experience in defining software architecture, APIs, event-driven systems and domain-driven design. Track record of building and developing high-performing engineering teams. Experience with e-commerce platforms, core business services or high-volume transactional systems. Strong technical judgment combined with empathetic leadership and excellent stakeholder management. Ability to balance customer, business and technical priorities while making sound architectural decisions. Interest in emerging AI-powered and agentic commerce technologies.
